June 4, 2018

Getting enough sleep can be difficult if a person is stressed out, unhappy or for any number of other reasons. But there a solutions that can increase the likelihood of waking up fully rested the next day.

Here are four tips that will help you sleep better at night:

Practice gratitude

Write down all of the things you're grateful for each day in a gratitude journal. Live your life to the fullest, so you don't feel like you missed out and wake up in the middle of the night feeling stress and regret. Appreciate everything you have like family, friends and your job. Be yourself. Practice self-expression by doing artistic activities. Humble your ego, so anger and resentment don't waste your valuable time and keep you up at night.

Adjust the temperature

Some need the perfect temperature to get rest. For better sleep, it's suggested to place the thermostat between 60 and 67 degrees Fahrenheit. Don't use too many blankets, so your body is allowed to breathe. Make sure that you have a pillow that supports your neck properly and allows airflow around your head.

Zen the bedroom

Transform your bedroom into a calmer environment. You may want to paint the walls a calming color like blue. Keep technology like televisions, video games, and computers out of the room. The screen's light can have a serious effect on eye health, emotional health, and productivity. Clean up by organizing and throwing trash out. Too many objects may be a distraction which can stop you from having a calm mind. Before bed turn off bright lights like lamps and technology.

Calm down

Many people have busy minds because rude people or work stresses them out. Calm down with breathing exercises or meditation. Add products with naturally calming ingredients to your nightly skincare regime. You can try simple yoga poses specially designed for better sleep.
